A number of Students with newer computers use Office 2008. Office 2008 has a different look and feel from earlier versions and has some features that are not backward compatible. How do you feel about moving to Office 2008 on College-owned machines?

1. 10/27/2008 1:39:00 PM The trainer should have updated material ready for students, faculty, & staff when we start using Office 2008.
2. 10/27/2008 1:40:00 PM Even though Office 2008 and Vista suck royally, our students, after graduation, will have to work for the lemmings that mindlessly follow Microsoft's tune.
3. 10/27/2008 1:45:00 PM I probably will need a bit of training, but it doesn't usually take too long. I'm having trouble downloading docs that come from machines using 2008.
4. 10/27/2008 8:14:00 PM We need to use it; otherwise, we can't open files that our students send us, or open their work on our computers, either work machines or the ones in classrooms.
5. 10/30/2008 2:53:00 PM The main problem I have with the new version is that when I try to teach students how to make graphs in Excel, I don't know how to use the new version. I personally am not motivated to get Office 2008 for myself, but not having the same software as some of the students sometimes means I can't help them when they need it.
